Scott Mountain Bikes

Founded in 1958 by Ed Scott, the first product created by the Scott brand was an innovative aluminum ski pole, which helped the brand become leaders in the skiing market. This success led the company into other sports markets including motocross accesories in 1970 and mountain bikes in 1986.

Scott continued to expand it's range of mountain bike products during the nineties, including the manufacture of mountain bike suspension components in 1991 and then a year later they launched their first full-suspension mountain bike.

The year 2000 was especially notable for Scott as they launched the lightest full-suspension mountain bike (the Strike) in history. Eight years on they celebrate 50 years of creating truly innovative and revolutionary sporting products.
